A master-planned, multi-generational journey from harm to wholeness...
Beginning with the "first 20"...
Because of their very young age, the girls we seek to serve cannot self-identify as victims, even though they are. Many of them cannot even tell us their names because they are so young. Most won’t know where they came from, and they have no real idea of where they are when they are discovered.
In these cases, there are no parents or other relatives to work out an “out-of-home family services agreement” with us. The girls’ permanency plan, by default, is PHIGS. “Permanency” for the first 20 girls is what this plan is all about. These 20 girls will become the “big sisters” of the ones who follow in years 4 and beyond.
The master-planning for this multi-million dollar legacy project has considered both the institutional requirements of this effort along with the family-home dynamic that PHIGS aims to provide for each girl in her journey from harm to wholeness. Each house meets specific institutional standards as a private, not-for-profit, state licensed child-care residence. However, by careful design and attention to detail, each residence also meets the need of each girl's sense of home, comfort and safety.
Visionary PHIGS Moments for the Years Ahead...
Below is a visionary collection of images that capture the mission of PHIGS. These images, and those utilized in all our public-facing media matter, are representative of the opportunities and actual outcomes we aim to achieve in each girl's journey "from harm to wholeness." As a matter of principle and full disclosure, PHIGS will never utilize, for fundraising or marketing purposes, the actual names, images or likeness of any of the survivors entrusted to our care. -Board of Directors, PHIGS
