Building on a 50-year pattern of success...

Big Oak Ranch & the Planting Oaks Network

"As an extension of Big Oak Ranch, Planting Oaks resources and equips like-minded ministries as they establish Christian homes for abused, neglected and abandoned children. Founded in 1974, Big Oak Ranch exists to meet the needs of abused, neglected and abandoned children by giving them a solid, Christian home and a chance to realize and fulfill God's plan for their lives." As such, PHIGS is pleased to be part of the growing Planting Oaks Network.
"Planting Oaks is offered at no cost and typically partners with individuals or groups working with young people in four major organizational categories: 1) Long-term residential care, 2) Long-term placement for children out of human trafficking, 3) Long-term foster care communities, and 4) Transitional living for those aging out of foster care. Some of the resources offered through Planting Oaks are monthly mentoring sessions, two-day onsite trainings, collaborative networking opportunities, documentation and resources that reflect Big Oak's policies and best practices, and much more."

PHIGS is tethered to our purpose through Planting Oaks partners...

In 2024, PHIGS co-founders Jay & Robin Liner completed the Fall Session of Planting Oaks Academy. In addition to the best practices of Big Oak Ranch, the collective resources of the Planting Oaks Network were also introduced. At the core of the Big Oak Ranch philosophy of ministry is this motivation: "We also connect our Planting Oaks partners with one another, so they can enjoy a strong network of like-minded ministries. Because founding a ministry to serve children isn’t easy. And these brave, passionate people need support and strength — which they get through the love, encouragement, and prayers of those walking the same path."

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." (Planting Oaks Academy, 2024 Fall Session)
